Congregation B'nai Maccabim

Tisha B'Av (the 9th day of the month of Av) is a day of mourning and fasting.  Tradition tells us that both times that the Temple was destroyed it was done on Tisha B'Av, and almost every great tragedy associated with our people is connected in some way with this day.  We will be having a service in remembrance of the things that have befallen us, but we will also look forward to the coming redemption of the Messiah.  After all, "the whole of the creation groans with mourning waiting for that day of redemption."
