Chanukah is the celebraton of the cleansing and rededication of the Temple by Judas Maccabee, after the Greek armies of Antiochus desecrated it. A miracle happened when enough oil to keep the Menorah in the Temple lit for one day lasted for eight days; allowing for more olive oil to be prepared for use in the Holy Temple. Today we celebrate this occasion by lighting our menorahs, on light for each night of Chanukah, singing songs, telling the story of Chanukah to our children, and eating lots of yummy stuff...(what else is new). You are invited to join us in this celebration. It is a great time for children of every age. If you plan on joining us please bring your own menorah, so that you and your family can join us in the lighting of the Chanukah lights.
