Following the seven days of Sukkot, there is the 8th day. This day is called Sh'mini Atzeret. It is a day of renewal, when we look for all things to be made new, and as a result it is also a day of great rejoicing. In Israel the celebration Simchat Torah (Rejoicing in the Torah) takes place during Sh'mini Atzeret, and we have decided a number of years ago that we would do the same. We will be reading the end of Torah, and then as soon as the scroll can be rewound we will begin the reading cycle all over again. This is a time of great rejoicing, and we will, for the last time, be able to sit and eat in our Sukkah. Join us for as we celebrate the last of the Fall Holy Days.
