Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) is a fast day, and the morning service for Yom Kippur continues our participation in the Jewish national day of repentence. At the end of the morning service we will celebrate Yiskor, a memorial service for the remembrance of our loved ones who have gone to be with the L-rd.
