Maot Chitim

Maot Chitim, To Be announced!

Maot Chitim is a service organization that helps supply food products for Passover and the High Holy Days, for those in the Jewish community to are in need.  To help this effort be a success they ask congregations, organizations, and individuals in the Jewish community to help pack boxes with non-perishable and perishable foods, to do an egg check, and to make deliveries to people's homes and/or apartments.  For the last 3 years B'nai Maccabim has been invited to participate in this endeavor, and with the help of Mrs. West, we have done so with great success. This year we are scheduled to bring a group of about 14 volunteers to help in packing non-perishables on Sunday, April 3rd, at 12:45 PM.  If you are interested in participating please contact Mrs. West, and let her know.  Please be aware that to help as a volunteer a person must be over 12 years old. Egg Check, is taking place after Shabbat is over, on Saturday, April 9th, @ 9:00 PM.  Children of all ages are permitted to participate in the Egg Check. Finally, Delivery of food packages begins on Sunday, April 10th, around 7:30 AM (?).  If you get there early you can request deliveries in your area.  However, if you get there late you may find yourself having to travel a significant distance. I want to encourage you to plan on participating as a volunteer for Maot Chitim.  This is a great way to be part of the larger Jewish community.  Thank You! Rabbi Betzalel
